Newberg’s
Camellia Trail:
A Community Art Project
The Camellia Trail is a Paint-by-number collaboration and celebration of our City’s official flower.
-
1. Local artist paints camellia.
NPAC has commissioned Camellia paintings from four local artists.
-
2. Artwork is digitized into paint-by-number.
Original paintings are simplified into line drawings and blocks of color.
-
3. NPAC traces and numbers it.
Our public art council members take turns tracing the work onto a 4x4’ plywood mini mural.
-
4. Newberg community members make it beautiful!
Hundreds of neighbors add their unique brush strokes to each mural.
-
5. Ten mini-murals will be part of the Camellia Trail.
When painting is complete, NPAC will find key areas in Newberg to display our collaborative project for all to enjoy.
This project is supported by the Oregon Cultural Trust and the Austin Family Foundation.
